UK Rap trendsetter Sincere has been their from the start of real street UK Rap. With street bangers such as ‘Not Gangsta’and  ‘Reppin London’ Sincere is no stranger to releasing material. He was afterall the first UK Emcee to do a gritty Hip-hop musical in the form of ‘So Sincere’. Is this where 1Day got their idea from? Who knows.

After success from previous releases Sincere drops ‘Written In The Stars’ mixtape which features the likes of Ghetts, Wretch 32, Little Dee and blood cousin Sincere.

C.R.E.A.M Collaborations!!!

Cream Cartel have been Trail Blazing their way through UK since Dubz Co-starred in ‘Ard Bodied’ with Giggs. Dubz, Youngsta and Page have all released Solo Projects in 2009.

2010 sees Cartel member Page link up with North London Lyricist Joe Black to create ‘The Black Page’ Mix Tape. Featuring Giggs, Nolay, Desperado & Kreamz, ‘The Black Page’ has definetly kicked 2010 off to a highly impressive start. Joe Black & Page bounce off each other to perfection, i am expecting alot of possitive things from each of these artists in 2010.

Page is not the only Cartel member who has recently colloborated with outside members. Youngsta linked up with Fix Dot M to create ‘Fix Of Meth’ Mix CD at the tail end of 2010. The mixtape features the likes of Giggs and Ghetts, and Mykal Million hosts with his usual boastful swagger.

Dot rotten – uncrowned king of 09?

After releasing ‘S.O.O.N’ pre-album in late 2009 nobody (Including myself) would have expecting another release so soon after.

‘Extra Attention’ is Dot Rotten’s official underground LP and if he has not already cemented himself as the next big thing, then after this release that goal will surely be accomplished.

Featuring Brutal, Griminal, Double S, Ice Kid and Mz Bratt amongst others, ‘Extra Attention’ is one of the best releases set for 2010.

With strong tracks and production courtesy of Dot Rotten himself, this release is the latest in a line of CD’s in a spectacularly short amount of time.

Terror Danjah – Hardrive Compilation

TERROR DANJAH PRESENTS…

‘Hardrive – The Compilation’

(Aftershock Recordings)

Terror Danjah is one of the pioneers of the Grime scene and a true champion for talent outside the big capital. This double disc serving features his latest and finest work to date. Featuring the likes of Ghetto, Griminal, Bruza, Mz Bratt, Chipmunk, Double S, Fumin and P-money to name a few, this compilation was always going to have to live up to its Big Bill. Similar to watching the David Haye V Goliath bout, I was hoping the big hits were going to last the distance and not be prematurely ended in the first couple of rounds.

Tracks such as Griminal’s ‘Cant Be’ and Fumin’s ‘Just Realize’ landed sweet right hooks to the eardrums but ironically it was classics such as ‘Cockback’ by Crazy Titch, Riko, Hyper MC & D Double E and ‘Zumpi Hunter’ by Wiley which enforced the vicious blows. The only bad thing i can say about this release is it is not necessarily a true representation of the finest talent in the scene. There are a few names missing and although listeners are treated to 160 mins of pure grime, maybe it could have been filtered to take away some below par tracks. Good value for price!

2009’s most slept on release – Elmz ST ‘Nightmare On Elmz ST’

ELMZ ST

‘Nightmare On Elmz ST’

(Roadside Gees)

Brixton is home to the fiercest and rawest music within the UK Scene. ‘Nightmare On Elmz St’ most definitely slots into that category and Elmz ST is aided in his onslaught with fellow Roadside Gees members Frass, R.A, Dan Diggerz and DR’z amongst others. As I was nodding of the sleep listening to ‘Nightmare On Elmz St’, I drifted off into a world of Concrete hell, tales of Drug Distribution and Freddie Kruga type characters on every street corner.

Elmz St manages to serve up a cold dish of street lyricism over rapid-fire production courtesy of Frass, Code Red and Ripper. Frass adds raw patios to a number of tracks to add a substantial bashment influence to the product. This is the first Grime Mixtape I’ve heard which successfully marries Bashment with the youthful Grime sound. Tracks such as ‘Roadside Gangsta’, ‘Nightmare’s Back’ and ‘Gangsta From Wi Born’ will make men with the thickest skin sleep with one eye open. The only word with sums this product up is ARD!!!!

Devlin the Giant!!!!

Devlin has been flaming his way through 2009 with hits such as ‘London City’ & ‘Community Outcast’ all getting regular play on Channel AKA and MTV Base. with the highly anticipated ‘Bud, Sweat & Beers’ LP on its way, the scene was wondering what next for this young talented Dagenham wordsmith and then it came!!!!!

His latest single is entitled ‘Giant’ and it is his most crossover track to date. With a super catchy hook and a industry standard video, Devlin showcases his world class lyricism over futuristic production.

A storm is about to hit Great Britain and that storm is Devlin!!!

Maniac & Snoopy Montana get 32 years!!!!!

On December 4th 2009 Maniac, arguably the brightest & best producer in the grime scene was sentenced to 14 years in prison for his part in a conspiracy to murder charge which involved his pregnant ex-lover.

Maniac is known best for tracks such as ‘Kidulthood to Adulthood’ by bashy, ‘Mainstream Money’ by Tinchy Stryder, ‘Inna Di Ghetto’ by Wretch 32 & Ghetto, ‘Grime kid’ by wiley and countless other grime anthems.

Brandon 'Maniac' Jolie

Maniac who’s real name is Brandon Jolie was given a 14 year sentence after he allegedly bought his 15 year old ex-lover to Islington where Snoopy Montana who’s real name is Kingsley Ogundele was awaiting and attacked her by hitting a metal pole over her head, kicking her and throwing her in the water all while  she was saying “Stop!! I’m Pregnant”. A passerby saved the young girl who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Snoopy Montana, who appeared on the Tim Westwood show as well as many other big radio shows such as cameo got 18 years for his part in the crime.

Kingsley 'Snoopy Montana' Ogundele

It is  great shame that through a moment of calculated madness the scene has lost two of their best up and coming musicians.

Ghetts – Skadoosh!!!!!

Ghetts is well and truly back.  After releasing ‘Does It Now’, he has been building up momentum for his ‘Calm Before The Storm’ Mix CD which is set to be one of the biggest releases of 2010.

With no set date on the release of that mix-tape we will have to rely on tasters to judge whether or not the mix-tape will be a success.

‘Skadoosh’ is the latest single to be released by Ghetts and it features Newcomer Maxsta and Dolla Da Dustman. with guest cameos in the video from Griminal, Devlin and Mz Bratt it is no wonder it is currently the talk of the Grime scene.

There’s a new word in town and that word is SKADOOSH!!!
