Christmas 2009 was a busy period for artists in the grime scene. with many artists eager to give a free gift away to loyal fans, it can only be helping the growth of the scene. I have named a few artists and they’re christmas releases, so their efforts were not forgotten in 2010.
First up we have Dagenham veteran Dogzilla. famous for his very cockney rhyming style and discovering arguably one of the greatest ever UK lyricists Devlin, Dogzilla has been a very busy man leading up to christmas and he has dropped ‘A Dog Is For Life, Not Just For Christmas’. Featuring production from Mr Slash, Danny Weed and Rachet amongst others, this release is a definite download for all Outtakers fans.
Next up we have Mr Snowman. Mr Snowman is a well known producer and remixer within the Grime Scene and this christmas he has given fans and emcees alike a real treat. ‘Back On The Map’ is an exclusive free download release which consists of 101 beats!!!! yeah you heard rite 101 free beats. download it and check it out.
Now we have Merky Ace. Merky Ace is an emcee that defines the word Hard-work, with countless free downloads to his name ‘Grime’ is his latest release which came out over the Christmas period.
Last but not least we have Grime Forum’s free pressie for fans. Grime Forum is arguably the biggest website in the Grime Scene and it has given not only so much to the scene but it is also a personal inspiration as to why i started Road Journal. ‘Wrapped 2009’ is their free Mix CD which features the cream of the grime scene including Scorcher, J2k, Skepta, Tinchy Stryder and Dot rotten.
